Chapter 132 Promoting Journey to the West
Yes.

The purpose of Journey to the West is very simple, that is, to spread the Three Vehicles to Nanfang Buzhou, so as to prevent the Three Vehicles from being lost.

Even now, the Three Vehicles has become the mainstream of Buddhism in Hezhou, Xiniu, but it still hasn't completely replaced the ancient Buddhism. Coupled with the threat of the magic way, the inheritance may be cut off in the future.

The purpose of preaching is not to carry forward, but more likely to survive first.

Hearing this, Ao Qing couldn't help thinking of Buddhism in her previous life.

This is actually the case with Buddhism in previous lives.

Although Buddhism originated in Nepal and spread in India, it has never really replaced the local mainstream religion.

Later, the Sakya tribe was wiped out, and the Buddhist sects were attacked one after another. In the end, some died and some fled. Until now, there are almost few left.

In modern India and Nepal, there are really not many people who truly believe in Buddhism, even fewer people who believe in primitive Buddhism.Buddhism can be said to have become a small branch of Hinduism.

On the contrary, in China, Buddhism developed gradually after learning Buddhist scriptures from Xuanzang, and later integrated Taoism, Confucianism, and mythology. After many generations, Zen and Pure Land Buddhism were derived, and they flourished.

The lineage of primitive Buddhism fled to Tubo, that is, Tantric Buddhism.

But now, Ao Qing's mythical world seems to be not much different from the context of her previous life.

They all have to rely on preaching to avoid being annihilated.

However, thinking of this, Ao Qing had a question.

This kind of missionary work... Judging from "Journey to the West", in the end, it was indeed a success.

However, in "Journey to the West", there is no story about the post-missionary story.

Can preaching really avoid being exterminated?

In other words, preaching can avoid being destroyed, but won't it be "distorted"?

In the legend, the Buddha and Bo Xun debated the Dharma in order to survive the Dharma.Bo Xun's final approach...was not to destroy the law.

Rather, it distorts the Dharma.

Yes.

There are corresponding records in the "Mahaparinirvana Sutra", "Buddha Canon Sutra", and "Buddha Dharma Extinction Sutra".

Bo Xun wanted to stop the spread of Buddhism to the east, but the matter was a foregone conclusion. The demon lord was unable to resist, so he came up with a way.

That is, pretending to be the Buddha himself, letting the disciples and grandchildren pretend to be Arhats and Bodhisattvas, and the magicians to pretend to be monks and nuns.Distorting the Dharma and making the Dharma a tool for exercising desires.

This move has directly damaged the foundation of Buddhism!
Even in later generations, although Buddhism still exists, the monks, abbots, and monks in it are all the sons and grandsons of Bo Xun.

All come for profit, all for karma, driven by desire, few are really masters of meditation.

The temple is full of smoke and rain, and demons dance wildly. The teachings of evil masters are like the sands of the Ganges River!

Thinking of this, Ao Qing couldn't help feeling a little emotional.

But right now, none of these things have happened. Now the Tathagata Buddha's first thought is to preserve the three vehicles, and use the three vehicles to save the world as much as possible.

Therefore, the journey to the west is also inevitable.

As for the "Dharma-ending Era" and "Bo Xun disciples' descendants and grandchildren" recorded in the Dharma Extinction Sutra, it has not happened yet.

All Ao Qing thought of was to remind the Buddha as much as possible, and to change as much as possible while conforming to nature.

Now, Patriarch Bodhi told Ao Qing the truth.Ao Qing said: "Master, in this way, does the Buddha mean to ask us to help and promote the spread of Buddhism to the East?"

Grandpa nodded slightly.

Immediately, he said: "Then Sakyamuni, he had some karma with me in the past. He asked me for this matter, and I couldn't refuse. But if you are not interested in this, then you don't have to force yourself."

Ao Qing said: "Since it's the master's business, this disciple should do his best. What's more, this matter is beneficial and not harmful to me."

Yes.For Ao Qing, this Journey to the West is not a trouble, on the contrary, it is a great opportunity.

Among them, the most direct opportunity is naturally to be able to act as an agent for the spread of Buddhism to the east.

To some extent, it can even be said that it has become an indispensable existence in the future of Buddhism, and has a great favor with Buddhism!

And Buddhism is one of the most powerful forces in the Three Realms, and it is a colossus in the Three Realms along with Taoism and Heavenly Court.Although there are victories and defeats with the Demon Dao, it is undeniable that its current strength is also very beneficial to the Dragon Clan.

There are even many descendants of the Dragon Clan, all of whom are servants or even disciples in the Buddhist sect.

If this can be done, then the Dragon Clan will have an extra big backer in the future.Among other things, as long as Ao Qing stepped forward, the Buddha would definitely give him some face.

In addition, there are Nagas of Heavenly Dragons in the west. Although Nagas are snakes and not real dragons, they also have some connections with the dragon clan.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Ao Qing can definitely find a way to incorporate the Dragon Clan and make Naga a part of the Dragon Clan's descendants.

So this matter, for the Dragon Clan, naturally has many benefits.

Of course, being able to participate in the "Journey to the West" is also a very interesting thing for Ao Qing himself, and he doesn't mind giving it a try.

As for the disadvantages, it is also obvious. That is, if he is willing to help Buddhism, then he must face the magic way.

In addition, the relationship with Taoism and Heaven must also be properly handled.

After all, to spread Buddhism to the East, one must be prepared to spread the Dharma. You can’t just teach the Dharma just because you say it, or just do it without informing the Taoist heaven.

But in Ao Qing's view, these are not difficult at all.

The Buddha will handle matters related to Taoism and heaven. When the time comes, just let nature take its course.

As for confronting the magic way? Most of those evil ways are entangled in evil karma. And if you let them know about Hunyuan Dragon Ball, maybe even if Ao Qing doesn't go to them, they will come to him.

That being the case, what is there to be afraid of?

Patriarch Bodhi probably knew about Ao Qing's thoughts.

And it is precisely because of the Westward Journey that the benefits outweigh the disadvantages for Ao Qing, so the Patriarch accepted this matter and asked his opinion.

Ao Qing said: "For the matter of spreading Buddhism to the East, the most important thing is the selection of candidates. Judging from the nature of this matter, it is best to have someone who combines the three religions to protect the Dharma. Therefore, my disciples in the Three Star Cave are the most suitable. But my brother will definitely not have one." This idea is not suitable for me, so I can only push this matter to the future 'junior'."

The patriarch said: "This matter can be regarded as the transmission of Buddhism to the east, but it can also be regarded as a way of cultivating the mind. The Tathagata has calculated that your future teacher and brother's temperament will escape, and the mind will be born on its own. Comprehension, but no tempering, so if I let him go to the West, it will save me a lot of teaching. However, if this happens in the future, he will also be a member of the Buddhist sect. It's up to him to choose."

Ao Qing said: "If he knows what happened, he will naturally understand Master's painstaking efforts."

The patriarch nodded slightly, and didn't pay too much attention, but asked: "You already know everything, since you want to do it, what do you think?"
