Chapter 571 This prosperous world is as you wish

Paju City is located at the northwestern tip of Gyeonggi-do, about 40 kilometers away from Seoul and adjacent to the [-]th Line. There is a highway running through the city, named Tongtong Road, which is an important traffic line connecting Seoul and Panmunjom.

The destination of Zhou Jing and his party was there today, and the three buses were driving smoothly on Tongtong Road, while Zhou Jing was sitting in the car but watching the scenery flashing by outside the window in silence.

It wasn't just him, the atmosphere in the car became more oppressive the closer it was to Paju, it could be said to be completely silent, and everyone's faces coincidentally maintained extremely solemn expressions.

This is an activity organized by the embassy. On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the motherland, I went to the Volunteer Army Martyrs Cemetery to pay homage to the martyrs to comfort the heroes. The people of the motherland have not forgotten them.

Some people may wonder why there is a tomb of the volunteer soldiers in South Korea. Yes, Zhou Jing was also shocked when he learned about it. In the end, it was Zheng Xiaojun who told him the whole story.

In the early 80s, the remains of volunteer soldiers and People’s Army soldiers were successively excavated in various parts of South Korea, but they could not be handed over due to various reasons at that time. The South Korean government set up this cemetery in Paju City in June 1996 to bury the remains.

The total area of the cemetery is about 6000 square meters, and it is divided into two cemetery areas. The first cemetery area is for the martyrs of the People's Army, while the second cemetery area is mainly for the volunteer army martyrs.

It is said that the early cemeteries were very simple, all the tombstones were made of wood, and the guidance was not clearly marked, so few people paid homage to them. In addition, the management was neglected, and the cemetery was overgrown with weeds.

Later, under the strong protest of South Korean folks, the South Korean government had to allocate 5 million won to renovate the cemetery, replace all wooden tombstones with marble, and send special personnel to take care of them.

As more and more people know about this place, a large number of Han Chinese and overseas students come to pay homage to it every Qingming Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.

In the past, it was a spontaneous act of the people, but this is the first time that such a big battle like today, almost all Chinese-funded enterprises and institutions in South Korea sent personnel to participate in the event.

Because the situation has changed this year, the Korean side had previously handed over the remains of 48 volunteers through Panmunjom, but there were many inconveniences.

In order to welcome the heroes back home, my country formally negotiated with South Korea last year and finally reached an agreement, and took back the remains of the first batch of volunteer martyrs before this year's Ching Ming Festival.

What's more, this year is the 65th anniversary of the National Day, and today is the 65th anniversary of the foundation laying of the "Monument to the People's Heroes".

Both emotionally and rationally, at the same time as the people of the whole country are celebrating, they should pay the highest respect to the heroes who fought bloody and sacrificed to defend the new China. The heroes of the people will live forever.

Perhaps because of getting the news in advance, when the bus drove into the parking lot of the cemetery, Zhou Jing found that quite a few media reporters had gathered at the gate.

Among them were domestic media, but most of them were local media in South Korea. Seeing this, they pointed their guns and short artillery at the bus, not letting go of any subject that could be photographed.

The people who participated in the event got off the car one after another and began to gather. At this time, a unique landscape line suddenly broke into the sight of the reporters.

"Take a rest, stand at attention"

Although the voice of shouting the password is old, it is strong and powerful. Zhou Jing only met the founder of Red Star Company today, Park Yongsheng. Although he is over seventy years old, he is still in good spirits.
"Turn to the right and walk together."

The sound of orderly steps followed, and the Red Star Company accounted for the vast majority of the team. Except for Park Yongsheng, Cui Zhiyong, Jiang Chenglong and other cadres above the team leader were all present.

Lin Yuzhe didn't come because there was an event at the embassy today, envoys from friendly countries and dignitaries from South Korea's political and business circles would be present. The Snow Wolf team was in charge of peripheral security and rushed to the scene early in the morning to accept the task.

However, when everyone gathered, Zhou Jing discovered unexpectedly that Su Xia who was Rongjin was also a veteran, and the two of them were stupefied when they met, because neither of them mentioned their experiences before.

No wonder the two hit it off at the beginning, and Zhou Jing thought it was nothing surprising. After all, Rongjin’s chairman, Zhou Guodong, started his business after he was transferred from the army.

It's just that the military uniform on Su Xia's body is a bit interesting, the 97 style. In Zhou Jing's memory, this military uniform was not distributed to the whole army, only
Facing Zhou Jing's puzzled eyes, Su Xia laughed and told him that she had personally witnessed the return of Hong Kong Island as a member of the first batch of troops stationed in Hong Kong, and she was beyond words when she finished speaking.

This special team walked towards the entrance of the cemetery. Although the military uniforms in the team were not uniform, everyone was deeply shocked by the uniform movements and steps, and a chilling air rushed over.

"1, 2, 3, 4"

The unique slogans soared into the sky, and the South Korean reporters trembled and almost couldn't hold the cameras in their hands, while the domestic reporters all unconsciously showed proud expressions.

These are our former people's soldiers. How about it, even if you have left the army, this energy alone is enough to beat your army. Many Chinese present secretly gave Zhou Jing and the others a big praise.

At this time, a sharp-eyed reporter spotted a familiar figure in the team, wasn't that Zhou Jingxi? He subconsciously pointed the camera at Zhou Jing in the queue.

Compared with the popularity of Zhou Jing in South Korea in China, many South Korean reporters recognized him in a short while, and immediately became excited collectively.

Who made Zhou Jing's topic so high? It was still on the hot search two days ago, so they all focused on Zhou Jing, and even wanted to call Zhou Jing for an on-site interview.

Are you kidding, making trouble, and without looking at the occasion, Zhou Jing ignored the group of reporters without looking sideways, and then followed the team directly into the entrance under the gaze of disappointment.

The reporters could only wait outside the gate. This was a rule during the event, and all media reporters were not allowed to enter.

The cemetery is quiet and solemn, and the neat rows of marble tombstones on the ground all face the same direction, which is where the motherland is located.

Not long after the Mid-Autumn Festival, there were traces of sacrifices and sweeps in front of the tomb, but Zhou Jing immediately had a sore nose when he saw the tombstone for the first time, because there were six big characters engraved on it in Korean and Chinese characters at the same time, "Chinese army, unknown person ".

The time and place where the remains were found are also marked on the side. Some tombstones have one more line than others, "March 2014, 3".

That was the date when the remains of the first batch of volunteer martyrs returned to the embrace of the motherland, and it also meant that the tombstones were actually empty.

But Zhou Jing didn't care, he still carefully wiped the tomb of the unknown soldier with a towel, and finally solemnly presented a bouquet of white chrysanthemums in front of the tomb.

More than 60 years ago, the ancestors left their families and went to the front line to shed their blood on these three thousand miles, and Zhou Jing's second uncle was also one of them.

When Zhou Jing’s hometown was liberated, his second uncle signed up to join the army and went south with the army. His last letter to his family said that their army was going to join the war.

In the end, what the family waited for was a certificate of sacrifice. Grandma Zhou Jing was still thinking about going to the martyrs cemetery in the north to see her second son before she died, but unfortunately she failed to do so.

This is also the reason why Zhou Jing's heart is particularly heavy at this moment. Of course, he still has a lot of things in his heart that he wants to tell the martyrs who are buried here.

"The enemy has more steel and less gas, but we have less steel and more gas." This is the best praise the great man gave to my heroic People's Volunteer Army.

But it also reflects a kind of helplessness. In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, there was a lot of waste to be done, and the industrial foundation was too weak. Therefore, our ancestors could only use their flesh and blood to fight the US imperialism and its lackeys armed to the teeth.

Time flies, more than 60 years have passed, and the industry of the motherland is no longer what it used to be. Zhou Jing can proudly tell his ancestors that we will never be short of steel again.

Today we produce more than 50% of the world's steel, which means that no other country produces as much steel as our own.

Although a large part of them are extensive and backward products, we are making continuous progress, and we have caught up with or even surpassed the West in some high-end areas.

And we can also go abroad to invest and build steel factories overseas. You must know that in the past it was the patent of European and American steel companies, but now we have also done it.

Zhou Jing always believed that it is better to tell the martyrs the current prosperity of the motherland than to feel sad, because this is the goal they were pursuing when they threw their heads and blood.

Peace and happiness, everyone can eat enough, clothe themselves warmly and go to school, and when they go out, they will no longer be ridiculed as the "sick man of East Asia" by others.

"Martyrs, rest in peace, please rest assured, we will definitely take over that mission and responsibility, the mountains and rivers will be safe, and this prosperous age will be as you wish."

"Salute." Zhou Jing stood in front of the tombstone and gave a solemn military salute.
