And every time the temperature increases by 100 degrees, the content of nitrogen oxides will increase by 6 to 7 times.

Nitrogen oxides are toxic to varying degrees, and can cause bronchitis or emphysema after entering the human body.

It is also one of the reasons for photochemical smog pollution, acid rain and ozone reduction.

At present, the world's mainstream manufacturers of aero engines and gas turbines use lean fuel premixed combustion as the main way to solve nitrogen oxide pollution.

However, premixed combustion technology faces the risks of spontaneous combustion and flashback.

And when the temperature is higher than 1700 degrees, it is difficult for the premixed combustion technology to meet the emission requirements.

At present, countries can only achieve hydrogen-doped combustion on heavy-duty gas turbines, and the maximum can only be about 15%.

Not to mention the small gas turbines used on ships!
Dongsheng Heavy Industry did not take the technical route of premixed combustion, they adopted another solution.

The principle is very simple.

When the temperature is higher than 150 degrees Celsius, nitrogen dioxide begins to decompose.

When it reaches 650 degrees, it will be completely decomposed into nitric oxide and oxygen.

When nitric oxide is heated to 700 degrees, it will decompose into completely harmless nitrogen and oxygen, and it will decompose violently at 1200 degrees.

In other words, as long as the temperature of the gas turbine exhaust is controlled between 1200 and 1500 degrees Celsius.

It can quickly decompose nitrogen oxides, thereby reducing emissions.

The "HLJ" aeroderivative gas turbine verified the feasibility of their idea, and the effect is very good.

The concentration of nitrogen oxide emissions can be reduced to 35 mg per standard cubic meter.

Not only is it lower than the "Marine Engine Exhaust Pollutant Emission Limits", it is even lower than the national standard of 50 mg of nitrogen oxides per cubic meter for gas-fired power plants.

Paved the way for their heavy-duty gas turbine R&D efforts.
