Chapter 693 4 Zen 8 Concentration

Chapter 693
On this day, Qin Di (avatar Qin Ku) found Zhenru Temple.

He carried a buddha fire on his body, nine sixth-level immortal swords, eight thousand ghost kings, and two hundred ghost immortals. Apart from that, he had nothing else, not even a single immortal stone, let alone the one he picked up before. Those fairy caves are gone.Although more than half of those fairy caves were cracked by him, there are still many left.

Now that you have chosen to practice Buddhism, you must calm down and prepare to be an ascetic.

Zhenru Temple has a large area, but the palace is simple and old, looking gray and dull, without resplendent decorations.

There are already three disciples under Monk Xu Yun, namely Chuan Deng, Hai Yin and Ben Huan.

When Qin Di entered Zhenru Temple, the first step was to shave.

Qin Di looked at the long hair on the top of the master's head and asked, "Master, can this step be avoided?"

Monk Xuyun shook his head: "No, hair represents the troubles in the world, past wrong habits, and pride and negligence. The purpose of shaving is to get rid of all worries and practice wholeheartedly."

Qin Di boldly asked: "Master, why do you still have your hair?"

Monk Xuyun said indifferently: "My old man's hair is a product of a specific time and a specific stage, ahem, I won't talk about the past years..."

Since you want to shave, let's shave it. Anyway, to Qin Di, these are external appearances, and they can grow back at any time with a thought.

After the shaving was completed, Xu Yun threw him three scriptures, one "Diamond Sutra", one "Vimalakirti Sutra", and one "Langa Sutra", saying: "A teacher is a branch of Zen Buddhism. Zen Buddhism pays attention to The point is to point directly at the heart and become a Buddha by seeing one’s nature. The main means are sitting meditation and sudden enlightenment. After becoming a teacher, I will teach you slowly, and the key to whether you can complete your merits and virtues in the end depends on your own mind.”

Qin Di clasped his palms together and said, "Thank you, Master, for your teaching. May I ask Master, what exactly is our Buddhist sect pursuing?"

Xu Yun replied: "Seeing the nature with a clear mind, becoming holy from the ordinary, transcending all time and space, causality, past, and future, gaining the freedom from all worldly things and all comforts, and then becoming a Buddha."

"Master, what is seeing one's nature clearly, what exactly does this 'sex' refer to?"

"It refers to the pure and natural heart that people have originally. The nature of the mind is pure and the Buddha-nature is inherent. Only by seeing the nature can one become a Buddha."

"Master, is the human mind so powerful? I heard that the Buddha is omnipotent. Is that how he cultivated it?"

Xu Yun was silent for a moment, and said: "At the beginning, there is a Buddha's heart, a kind heart, a pure heart, and a free heart. This heart is surrounded by worldly causes and effects, and is contaminated by various bad habits. After entering meditation, it must break through the three barriers and see the heart clearly. Only then can one become an arhat; then release the Buddha's heart, and after the heart turns into fire, a Buddha fire will be generated. With the Buddha fire, one can be considered as a Bodhisattva and have the ability to subdue dragons and tigers; and then cultivate the Buddha fire, from the first level Until the ninth level, with the ninth-level Buddha fire, that is the Bodhisattva of the ninth level. In the end, the Buddha fire sublimates and becomes a true Buddha, and can penetrate the heavens and the earth, grasp the clouds and the moon, and possess extraordinary and refined abilities."

After hearing this, Qin Di seemed to understand, but there were still many questions. He wanted to ask again, but was stopped by Xu Yun.

Xu Yun waved his hand and said: "You first memorize these three volumes of scriptures. Then go to Jiuku Beach and sit quietly for a hundred years before we talk about it."

Qin Di swept the scriptures with his spiritual sense, and quickly recited the scriptures. However, the subsequent speculation and understanding cannot be completed in a day or two.

He obeyed the order, walked slowly to the edge of the Sea of Nine Sufferings, and sat down cross-legged.

At the beginning, his thoughts were chaotic, like a mess. Gradually, his heart began to settle down, and he soon entered the state of the first meditation.

The first Zen belongs to the worldly Zen. The so-called worldly Zen refers to ordinary people or people who cultivate their minds and cultivate their nature. In order to make alchemy and Qi, make the body healthy and peaceful, sit quietly, count breaths, meditate, contemplate, or inhale the tree under the big tree. The theory of spiritual energy, and even meditation under the sun and moon, regardless of day and night, can prolong life, achieve physical and mental health and comfort, and even have healing and induction deeds. Compared with being enlightened and seeing one's nature, there is still a long way to go!

The realm of the first meditation is divided into three realms, which are called "three days" by Buddhists, that is, the Brahma Heaven, the Brahma Fu Heaven, and the Great Brahma Heaven. In these three days, there is no need for food and drink, so there is no second consciousness of the nose and tongue, only pleasant feelings It corresponds to the three feelings of the eyes, ears and body, and the joy and consciousness correspond to it.

It took Qin Di only three months to complete the first meditation, because he is a spirit fairy, and it is not difficult for him not to eat or drink and not move like a mountain.

Then, he entered the realm of the second jhana.

When the mind is pure and the coarse leaks are subdued, this is called the Second Dhyana.

The Second Dhyana also has three days, namely Shaoguangtian, Wuliangguangtian, and Guangyintian. In these three days, there is no first five consciousnesses, but only consciousness. Therefore, there are only two feelings of joy and abandonment, which correspond to consciousness.

After half a year, Qin Di entered the Three Chans.

Peace of mind, complete with joy, is called the Three Dhyanas.

The Three Zens also have three days, namely the Shaojing Heaven, the Immeasurable Pure Heaven, and the Universal Pure Heaven. The consciousness and experience of these three days are all similar to those of the Second Zen, but the pleasant appearance of consciousness is more pure and wonderful.

For this step, Qin Di took a long time. In order to achieve the true purity of heart, it took a full three years.

Then, he began to enter the realm of the four jhanas.

There are no five senses, no pleasure and feeling, only equanimity and feeling, corresponding to consciousness, which is called the four dhyana.

There are nine heavens in the Four Zens, namely, the sky of no cloud, the sky of blessing, the sky of Guangguo, the sky of no thought, the sky of no trouble, the sky of no heat, the sky of good seeing, the sky of good manifestation, and the sky of ultimate form.

Qin Di spent a full 20 years on this level.

When it was finished, before I opened my eyes, I heard my master Xuyun said: "My master asked you to sit in meditation for a hundred years, but I didn't expect that it took only 20 years to complete the first step. In the first day of meditation, because the thoughts in my heart were uncertain, so There is a fire outside; in the second dhyana, there is a joyful heart for meditation, so there is flood outside; Come down."

Qin Di sat quietly, still did not open his eyes, and the master's voice kept coming from his ears:
"Next, you don't need to get up, you can continue to sit down. You have completed the four meditations and eight samadhis of Buddhism, and you have completed the practice of the colored world. Later, you will enter the formless world and start to step into the 'four empty samadhis' , also known as 'four colorless concentration'."

"What are the four empty samadhis? They are samadhis of boundless emptiness: they are practitioners who want to get out of the cage of form (matter and matter) that is full of afflictions, so they let go of form and think about the boundless emptiness, and realize the boundless correspondence between mind and emptiness. Boundless samadhi: A pedestrian who dislikes the external void, so he abandons the emptiness and relies on the inner consciousness to achieve a boundless correspondence between the mind and the consciousness. To the heart and nothingness corresponding. Neither thinking nor non-thinking place samadhi: right and wrong (non-thought), not without fine thinking (non-non-thinking), to achieve the state of infatuation, love, joy, purity and inaction ..."

After finishing speaking, Monk Xuyun left again.

Qin Di continued to sit quietly, neither eating nor drinking, not wanting to move, and it took another 30 years to complete the first step in the four-empty meditation.

After another 40 years, the second step was completed.

…………

It took a total of 300 years for Qin Di to complete the four meditations and eight samadhis since he came to Jiuku seaside to sit quietly. At this time, his body became thinner, but the sixth-level Buddha fire had already been promoted from the dantian To the heart, lit up his entire heart palace!
He still didn't eat or drink, and didn't open his eyes.

After another 800 years, he had become as skinny as a stick, and only then did he completely refine this Buddha fire and transform it into his own fire of life.

The origin of this Buddha fire is complicated. It was originally an unknown low-level spiritual fire. It may have come from a young monk who practiced meditation and worshiped Buddha. Growing up, Qin Di's spiritual consciousness has been added during the fire sacrifice process. Even so, it took him a thousand years to truly reconcile with his own Buddha heart and completely become his own Buddha fire.

At this moment, before Qin Di got up, his master, monk Xuyun, came again!
