Zombies take me as air

Chapter 10 The Woman in the Rain

Chapter 10 The Woman in the Rain
Kong Qi stood in the room for a while, then withdrew and went back to the kitchen to sit. The battery should be saved. When she had nothing to do, she cranked the radio to charge the hand crank.

She spent a month in a state of nervousness and panic, her mind was actually numb, and many things were out of her scope of thinking. When she was in the city, there were too many noises that disturbed her, and she could not be quiet for 24 hours.

Now that she was in a quiet village, the thoughts suppressed in her heart surged up and occupied her brain.

For example, before the mobile phone signal was cut off, the last call she answered was from her friend Lin Baoni in the orphanage.

The two work in different cities. Lin Baoni got married early and got a certificate just after reaching the legal age. Her daughter is two years old this year. Every year during the Spring Festival holiday, Kong Qi will visit her in the city where Lin Baoni lives.

On the phone, Lin Baoni was breaking down and crying, saying intermittently, "Baby, my baby is gone." Before the signal was cut off, Kong Qi heard Lin Baoni's screams and the roar of zombies, close to her ears.

Some memories are engraved in her mind, and when she turned them out, they were still as new. Kong Qi took out a tissue and wiped her tears. She sat by the pot and cried for a while. She didn’t dare to let the crying overwhelm the sound of rain, and survived in the city. The experience taught/taught her that keeping silent is good for survival.

She never defended against zombies, but the same kind.

It rained continuously outside the house, and darkness covered the land. From early morning to dusk, Kong Qi wanted to go to the field to break some corn and stock it back, but it rained all day, and it still didn’t stop at dusk.

Kong Qi was about to put a plastic bag on her head and go out to break corn in the drizzle when she suddenly heard noises outside the courtyard!

Could it be that Poison Rain brought the dead zombies back to life?
Her heart beat violently, she fixed the plastic bag, held the ax tightly, pushed the door and walked into the yard.

Better not be human.

Kong Qi prayed silently in her heart, but things backfired. Someone knocked on the iron gate of the yard, rhythmically and regularly, and the sound was very soft, obviously not the work of zombies.

"Is anyone... open the door..." A weak woman's voice sounded from outside the door.

It might be bait, Kong Qi has seen this kind of deception in the city, using women and children as bait to make the victims relax their vigilance, open the door and let them in, and then a few strong men will suddenly jump out from the side, rob and kill people.

"Xiaobei...it's me, open the door...Xiaobei..." The woman's voice was urgent, and her continuous talking seemed to have exhausted her strength. She gasped for breath, feeling like she was about to be unable to hold on.

Kong Qi relaxed her steps, picked up the ladder in the yard, quietly climbed up the wall, and looked out.

There was no one nearby, only a long-haired woman in a hospital gown outside the door. She bent over and held the door, as if she would fall to the ground at any time.

"Who are you looking for?" Kong Qi was both defensive and compassionate. Seeing that there was no one around, and there was no vehicle or other means of transportation, she asked while leaning on the wall.

The woman is either sick or injured. Kong Qi is not sure if she has been bitten by a zombie, so she does not plan to open the door for the time being.

Zombies use her as air, but if an infected person scratches her before the corpse transforms, the virus will still enter her body.

"Is Lu Xiang...bei there? I'm...him, friend." The woman raised her head and looked at Kong Qi.

Kong Qi turned on the flashlight and shone it on the woman's face. The woman's face was pale without a trace of blood, her hair was wet, and the striped hospital gown on her body was also wet from the rain.

Seeing Kong Qi's bewildered face, the woman reached out and took out a photo from her pocket, and held it up for Kong Qi to see.

It was the whole image of three people, two teenagers stood on both sides, and the girl in the middle was beautiful and dignified.

Of course Kong Qi recognized this photo, she had just seen it on the desk in the Westinghouse.

But she didn't know who Lu Xiangbei was, maybe that little chubby guy?

No, this is another boy's home, so Lu Xiangbei should be...Jia Zhiguo?
