Chapter 91 What is there to see in this rotten Big Wild Goose Pagoda?
Killing Wu Minzhi turned him into a Queen of Heaven, I have to say, it's quite ironic.

Of course, he is still a princeling behind his back, and once the names in the mourning hall are handed over and they swear an oath together, the prince's favor will basically reach its peak.

Compared with Li Hong, Empress Wu's mean and ungrateful personality did not expect to gain so-called goodwill at all.

Use you if it's useful, get out or die if it's useless.

But Li Yan thinks about it, this is good, it will be more convenient to backstab in the future, and his smile suddenly becomes more natural: "I want to thank the Queen of Heaven for her generosity, I failed to stop the monk, and she doesn't blame me..."

Seeing him turning the corner, Eunuch Gao breathed a sigh of relief, brought a horse, and first went to Ci'en Temple to report.

Li Yan walked slowly towards the south of the city by himself, and immediately began to heal his injuries.

"That's the Temple of Mercy!"

Half an hour later, Li Yan opened his eyes wide when a stretch of monasteries that could not be seen at a glance came into view.

From the perspective of modern people, Chang'an City is indeed great and shocking in this era, but that's the case if you see too much.

On the contrary, the main street of the Lifang system is pleasing to the eye, and it is very comfortable to walk no matter how many times.

But such places of interest, especially the temples that survived in later generations, really have an extraordinary feeling.

For example, this very big Ci'en Temple.

It is in Jinchangfang, which accounts for half of the entire city. There are multiple buildings and halls, cloud pavilions and cicada houses, and towering Buddha statues. There are thirteen large courtyards and nearly [-] houses, which are magnificent to the extreme.

Li Yan has been to the Daci'en Temple left in Xi'an by later generations. At that time, he thought it was not small, but compared with the present, it is only equivalent to the site of a West Pagoda courtyard.

"If there is a drone that overlooks from a high altitude and flies all the way, it will be really spectacular!"

Li Yan regretted that he could only look at it, and walked towards the courtyard gate near the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

The name of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda comes from a legend in Tianzhu.

Probably the monk was hungry, saw a flock of geese flying in the sky, and thought that the Buddha should know our suffering and give him some food, but a goose swooped down and fell to his death in front of him.

The monks were overwhelmed with surprise, thinking that it was the Tathagata's response, so they buried the wild goose in a grand ceremony and built a pagoda, named it the Wild Goose Pagoda.

As for why monks eat wild goose meat, it is because they eat wild goose meat, and they do not see, hear or suspect killing.

I didn't see the tragic scene of animals dying with my own eyes, I didn't hear the sound of animals being killed with my own ears, and I didn't kill them because I wanted to eat them.

Such meat can be eaten.

The geese fell to their death peacefully and could eat.

It is said that Xuanzang visited the Wild Goose Pagoda in Tianzhu, and built a Big Wild Goose Pagoda after returning to China. The big characters mean Mahayana Buddhism, and it is used to store the Buddhist scriptures and statues brought back from Tianzhu.

Just compared with later generations, Li Yan looked at the tall and thin tower, but couldn't recognize it at all: "This tower has only five floors now, is it still so thin?"

In fact, when the Big Wild Goose Pagoda was first built, it only had five floors. During the Wu and Zhou Dynasties, it was rebuilt once, and it was added to a seven-story green brick pagoda, which was later increased to ten floors.

Since then, it has been repaired, and the highest has reached eleven floors, but the appearance is always so thin and tall.

It was not until the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty that a [-]-centimeter-thick cladding was built on the outside of the remaining seven-story Tang Dynasty pagoda, and the shape became thicker, and it became the appearance of the rotten big wild goose pagoda of later generations~
Li Yan doesn't know much about the historical details of the Buddhist architecture, and his impression is still in the seven-story earth yellow pagoda. Seeing it is completely different at this time, he is a little curious.

But before he got close to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a group of monks headed by Master Puguang came over.

Eunuch Gao informed him that he, the Queen of Heaven, was here to meet him.

……

"Master, I'm bothering you!"

"Benefactor Li, please!"

Master Puguang smiled and invited Li Yan into the guest room, while Eunuch Gao was waiting outside.

After the two sat down, Master Puguang first became concerned about Wu Minzhi's situation: "I heard that Zhou Guogong's health is not optimistic?"

Li Yan knew that people like Wu Min hated ghosts, and the abbot of the Ci'en Temple probably wanted him to die. Of course, monks are merciful, so he couldn't say it directly, so he said tactfully: "I have tried my best."

Master Puguang immediately understood through the sad tone, and proclaimed the Buddha's name: "Amitabha!"

Li Yan also cooperated with the grief for three seconds, and then turned the grief into a desire to bring goods: "I have a lot of research on tea products, I would like to make a pot of tea, please master one!"

When the aroma of green tea overflowed, Pu Guang was as surprised as Fa Ming from Famen Temple.

This little man, why did he study how to drink this medicine?

But don't say it, it tastes good.

Li Yan was also very happy to see that Pu Guang's interest was aroused.

His current status is still low, and he will not easily express the ideas in his heart, and is still in the foreshadowing stage.

Ci'en Temple is the most monastery in the world. If this kind of tea-drinking style can be raised, the role of example will be extremely powerful.

The two chatted over tea.

There are common hobbies in life, and it is always easy to get closer.

In addition, Li Yan helped Chang'an Seng Dao invisibly before, and took over Wu Minzhi's hot potato. After a while, something happened, and Master Puguang had a very good impression of him.

While talking, seeing that Li Yan's breath seemed to be a little unstable, he couldn't help but asked with concern: "Benefactor Li is injured?"

Li Yan nodded, talked about the matter with Kumara, and finally sighed: "Ming King's reputation is well-deserved!"

"Why didn't Donor Li say so earlier?"

Master Puguang got up immediately and came behind Li Yan to heal him.

Li Yan felt a gentle force pouring into his body, following his limbs and bones, regulating his qi and blood, and recovering from his injuries.

"Guangming Jin is worthy of being the number one health-preserving exercise."

Li Yan silently felt the gentleness and honesty of this force, and secretly admired it.

When he was in Liangzhou, in his memory, Uncle Dumb once summed up the characteristics of various strengths in the world. When he wrote about Guangming Jin, it was this strength that was the worst at fighting, but the most effective at healing.

The monks in Ci'en Temple basically practice light energy, and many of them will be free from disease and disaster for a lifetime, and enjoy a happy life.

Li Yuanfang is not interested in this kind of warm-swallowing martial arts. Taoist pills can also heal wounds, but it is very cruel to beat people.

Uncle Dumb also thought so, so let him lay the foundation with Dan Yuan Jin, inner sage and outer king, and only then did he have the victorious battle.

But at this time, Guangmingjin healed his wounds, and Li Yan was quite comfortable.

After recovering from the internal injury, the strength began to operate according to the route of Baishengjin, and the skill faintly increased by one point.

"Let me come to Ci'en Temple because you are afraid that I will get close to the adults at home?"

Suddenly, he understood another deep meaning of Empress Wu.

He was not allowed to return to the Duke's Mansion because he was afraid that he would go back hurt in a depressed mood and get close to Li Dejian.

Instead, he had to go to the Great Mercy Temple to heal his wounds. In the royal temple, those who bathed were also holy grace. After recovering from their injuries, they would naturally get close to the empress.

Don't underestimate such details. People in this era are already in awe of monarchy, and if they are tossed about like this, it is hard to guarantee that they will not give up.

Calculating people's hearts like this, I really don't feel tired and panic.

Of course, Master Puguang's healing help should be appreciated.

Li Yan got up and saluted: "Thank you, Master!"

Master Puguang continuously exercised his inner strength for [-] quarters of an hour, without any change in breath, clasped his hands together: "Benefactor Li, you are welcome!"

After all, it was a temple presiding over it, and he was busy with official duties. Master Puguang said some more words, took his leave and left.

Before leaving, he was allowed to freely visit the Ci'en Temple and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

Naturally, Li Yan was not polite, and led the eunuch Gao to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

The most famous feature of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the Tang Dynasty was not its Buddhist significance, but that a Jinshi visited the temple and inscribed his name under the Big Wild Goose Pagoda on a whim.

This behavior seems to be no different from "so-and-so came here for a visit", but he is a new scholar, and he is proud of his title on the Yanta Pagoda. He immediately attracted literati to follow suit, so that it became a practice.

Among the more than [-] Jinshi in the Tang Dynasty, about five or six thousand people signed their names under the Wild Goose Pagoda. The most famous poem is Bai Juyi's poem, "The place where the name is written under the Ci'en Pagoda is the youngest among the seventeen people", which is very frightening.

The first nominee was more than [-] years later in history. During this period, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda was still very leisurely. Li Yan walked around the outside, pushed open the heavy gate, and walked in.

Walking into the first floor of the pagoda, you can see a group of monks sitting in cross-legged posture with their heads bowed, reciting scriptures silently and protecting the relics.

The atmosphere is calm and peaceful.

The relics placed on the third floor by later generations are available on every floor at this time.

But there is no such exquisite golden pagoda, but it is evenly placed on the wooden base, and the shapes and sizes of the grains are different, which is very inconspicuous.

"Didn't Qiu Shenji say that when the Buddha bone relics were exhibited back then, he felt light and healthy from a distance?"

"I want to see and see if there is such a miraculous effect..."

Compared to Eunuch Gao who was also full of piety, Li Yan, an unbeliever, got close to watch after apparently praying together.

This thing is actually not uncommon at all. After the death of ordinary people, if the ashes are not burnt clean, granular residues are found in the ashes. From a material point of view, it is equivalent to relics.

Ancient technology is not as good as modern ones, and there are more relics left after the sparks of eminent monks. Teeth, nails, phalanges, and hair are relics, mummified corpses are relics of the whole body, and even the scriptures buried with them are dharma relics.

The above at least have Buddhist commemorative significance, and it will be more magical in later generations. There are more and more eminent monks who can burn relics, hundreds of them a year, and there are various patents and papers.

That is not the progress of Buddhism, but the progress of chemistry.

Li Yan approached, hoping to be bathed in the Dharma, and his martial arts cultivation would gradually increase.

But after bathing for a long time, there was nothing but a faint strange smell.

He shrugged slightly and walked up.

The five-story Big Wild Goose Pagoda was quickly finished. In addition to the relics, the main three floors above were the original scriptures that Xuanzang brought back from Tianzhu.

When Li Yan was found approaching, the accompanying monks were very careful, fearing that he might damage the scriptures.

Li Yan didn't bother to read it, and he couldn't understand it either, since it was all written in Wuzhu characters.

What he is really interested in is Xuanzang's Consciousness-only Strength, which is said to be the most miraculous martial art in Buddhism.

The Xuanzang of this world can walk [-] miles to Tianzhu to learn Buddhist scriptures, and he has gone through hardships and obstacles along the way, not to mention his martial arts cultivation.

That's a real muscular man who stripped off his clothes and stepped back to be his teacher.

But his inheritance is too profound, it seems that no master has learned it.

Even Xuanzang's personal disciple, Master Puguang, who is in charge of Ci'en Temple, cultivates the energy of light.

"Unfortunately, unfortunately..."

"For me, what's there to see in this rotten Big Wild Goose Pagoda~"

Li Yan shook his head, turned around and walked down.

Back on the first floor of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, he was just about to go out when his footsteps stopped suddenly.

Because among the group of meditating monks, the one sitting at the end suddenly raised his head, bleeding from the corner of his lips, his face was pale, and he looked over faintly.
