Chapter 344 "Shaolin Abbot Murder Incident"

Chapter 344 "Shaolin Abbot Murder Incident"

"The Shaolin Temple is so big, I'm afraid it's hard to stop it!"

Li Yan still wanted to save people this time, but his eyes glanced and his nose moved, but there was no smell of blood coming out, but his heart still sank.

The mountains are empty, if you can smell blood, then the murder has already happened, even if the conflict is imminent, there are many temples and houses in Shaolin Temple, it is too late to save the victim.

But when Li Yan looked around, his thoughts suddenly moved.

They had been waiting outside the temple for more than half an hour, and all the monks in the temple were alarmed. From time to time, some people passed by to look at them, and many young monks probed their brains, very curious.

Apparently, Shaolin Temple has already known that the government is coming. At this time, if there is a conflict among the monks, the possibility of doing it is extremely low, unless it is absolutely necessary...

Li Yan looked at Yang Zaiwei: "Do you think that if your junior brother happened to be in the temple, he would silence the insider?"

Yang Zaiwei was startled for a moment, then raised his eyebrows: "He dares! He was born in Shaolin after all, how could he do such a thing of deceiving his master and destroying his ancestors?"

When he said the words "deceive master and destroy ancestors", his voice trembled subconsciously, and his expression turned ugly.

Li Yandao: "I have no intention of conflict here, I just want to suspend the fighting, to avoid a situation where both sides will suffer because of that vicious old woman in Shang Gong, but your junior brother doesn't know, if he is another monk passing on news, he thinks If we come to get him and act first, it will be a misunderstanding."

Yang Zaiwei had to admit that there was such a possibility: "Then what should we do?"

Li Yandao: "Go into the temple to investigate and make some disturbances, let your junior brother know that we have no malicious intentions, so as not to make a big mistake that is irreparable."

Yang Zaiwei was filled with admiration: "Li Yuanfang, it's no wonder you are in a high position. You are really thoughtful. Don't worry, I will never take the opportunity to run away!"

Li Yan grabbed Shang Gong, so he was naturally not afraid of him running away, not to mention that Jin Zhizhao was still imprisoned in the inner prison, and urged: "Time is running out, go!"

Yang Zaiwei didn't care about the commanding tone, his body flickered, and he rushed out.

Hui Zang walked over with all the monks in a mighty manner, and just about to show his majesty, he saw a man rushing towards him, his expression changed suddenly: "What are you doing!"

Yang Zaiwei's five senses have already been activated, and he has fully developed his own potential. At this time, he used his tongue consciousness, inhaled slowly, and then suddenly shouted: "Get out of the way!!"

There was a loud bang, as if thunder had exploded on the flat ground, and it was also like a roar of a lion, and all the monks in Shaolin were stunned by the shock.

However, they practice martial arts diligently, and their bodies are much stronger than ordinary people. After a moment of trance, they reacted and clenched the long sticks in their hands.

But Yang Zaiwei's target was not them, at this time his figure was like lightning, he had already spread his wings like a roc, jumped over them, plunged into the temple, and disappeared.

I only heard his shout spread far away, resounding through the whole temple: "Ashi Nahuan! Come out to see me! Come out to see me!!"

This movement is really too big.

Not to mention that the Shaolin monks were caught off guard, even Cheng Wuzhong was taken aback, and he sincerely praised: "As expected of Li Jiyi's subordinates, really strong martial arts."

In comparison, Hui Zang's face changed suddenly, completely offended by this kind of provocation, and shouted: "Trespassing my temple without authorization, how can you tolerate you, line up!!"

The monks and soldiers behind him shouted in unison, headed by the monk Zhijian, holding Shaolin long sticks and forming a formation: "Hey! Ha!"

Cheng Wuzhong laughed back angrily: "This group of monks really dare to commit crimes, Baiqi obeys orders, if the monks dare to attack, they will be killed!"

"Yes!!"

The elite of the Hundred Riders agreed with a bang, and took out the magic crossbows in one order, and held them up.

Witnessing the flashing arrow aiming at it, Hui Zang's expression changed again.

The envoy who delivered the decree actually carried a crossbow?

The murderous aura made the scalps of the monks and soldiers who did not have much actual combat experience feel numb.

But Hui Zang still did not retreat, holding his neck high: "The monks and soldiers in my temple are Emperor Taizong's imperial seals, you dare to kill them?"

Cheng Wuzhong was really unwilling to do it first: "Didn't you just want to give us a good look, you bald man, we are right here, come on!"

Hui Zang was not stupid, he shouted angrily: "Don't you want to shoot and kill, the old monk is standing here, come on!"

Seeing that the two were about to fight for [-] rounds, Li Yan called out: "This is Shaolin Temple."

Cheng Wuzhong's appearance was rough, but his mind was delicate, he immediately understood, and said with a smile: "Haiqi obeys orders, follow me to escort Li Jiyi into the palace to pass the decree!"

Baiqi rode forward step by step with the divine strategy crossbow. Huizang's expression changed several times, but he didn't dare to use his flesh and blood to protect the dignity of the Buddhist sect, so he retreated extremely aggrieved.

Not far away, Zhi En, a monk who came to deliver a message, saw this formation, poked his probe, and dared not approach.

Since there were many monks watching around, all eyes were on him, Li Yan's main concern was the group of Shaolin monks in front of him who were filled with grief and indignation.

If it was the Shaolin Temple of other dynasties, it would definitely not be so arrogant, but in the early Tang Dynasty, they were rewarded by Emperor Taizong and prospered with martial arts. Naturally, they were not as peaceful as other Buddhist temples.

In fact, the reason why Shaolin Temple was able to develop in the Tang Dynasty was definitely not accidental, precisely because its martial arts atmosphere fit the Tang people's competitive character.

In addition, after the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Buddhism flourished and martial arts were good, which could ensure the safety of this life, know how to chant Buddha, and hope for wealth and honor in the next life.

Thinking of the thousand-year history of Shaolin Temple, Li Yan entered the main hall, his eyes swept over the poorly made Buddha statues, and then fell back on the monks, looking at the oldest Hui Zang: "Are you the abbot of the temple?"

Hui Zang thought of Fa Ming's words just now, and he didn't see the slightest bit of Buddha's intentions from this person at all. On the contrary, he said with a straight face as if relying on the arrogant and domineering dude of his subordinates: "Lao Nai is the 'Weina' in the temple. I met Li Jiyi."

Li Yandao: "That is also the three outlines of the temple. I asked the abbot and the monk officials of the temple to come to listen to the decree. You lingered for a long time, but there were more than a hundred monks and soldiers. Is this going to repeat the blatant decree of the Wude period?"

Hui Zang's complexion changed: "Where do you start with this? In the past, the thirteen stick monks in our temple helped the Tang Dynasty conquer the city and seize land. They have always been loyal to the Tang Dynasty and have no intention of resisting the order!"

Cheng Wuzhong sneered when he heard it, and successfully attacked a city, which turned into a siege in the mouth of the monk. Is it true that you will save Taizong in the future?

Li Yan said indifferently: "I never listen to arguments, but look at actual actions. The end of the Sui Dynasty is the end of the Sui Dynasty, and now we are in the heyday of the Tang Dynasty. You say you are loyal, but you dare to neglect the imperial decree to such an extent, and say Without the heart of disobedience, how can you cultivate your Dharma with such double-faced swords?"

Hui Zang clasped his hands together, avoiding the important and taking the light: "Li Jiyi doesn't understand my Zen Buddhism, so don't judge yourself."

Li Yan is not polite: "I really don't practice Buddhism, but I know that your Zen sect started with Bodhidharma, and now it is Master Hongren of Dongshan Temple and Master Huineng who is wandering outside, and your Shaolin Temple is still far behind. Far worse!"

The fifth patriarch Hongren is now practicing in Dongshan Temple. In history, after Wu Zetian ascended the throne, he invited a group of Hongren’s disciples into the palace dojo to make offerings. Where did it go.

The Sixth Patriarch Huineng established the Southern Zen School in the south. This one needs no introduction. The mainstream of Zen Buddhism in later generations, everyone can say the four lines of Buddhist gatha.

Li Yan still respects these two people very much. The real Buddhist eminent monks have great wisdom and wisdom. Looking at the monks in Shaolin Temple who are broad and strong with red faces, they are even more displeasing to the eye: "You are so greedy and angry. The monks who are not lacking are still Shaolin Sangang? With you as the guide, how can you teach the upper and lower members of this temple well? You can understand that if you have heard the scriptures for many kalpas, you will realize it in an instant?"

Huizang couldn't help being surprised when he thought of his master's advice before, and then thought of Fa Ming's words, this seemingly worldly person is actually a Buddha's disciple, he couldn't help asking: "Could it be that Li Jiyi knows my Zen knowledge?"

Li Yandao: "Master Huineng's 'sudden enlightenment' and Master Shenxiu's 'gradual cultivation' each have their own subtleties. What I learned in Zen is indeed in line with my entry into martial arts."

Regarding the dispute between Shenxiu and Huineng between the north and the south of Zen, later generations have different opinions. Scholars of various schools have various analyzes on which one is more brilliant and which one is more practical. Li Yan does not express his opinion. Anyway, he thinks that it is very useful to absorb the essence.

Every time he works hard, it is equivalent to Huineng's "sudden enlightenment method", and the accumulation of ordinary martial arts practice is Shenxiu's "gradual cultivation method". The two complement each other to achieve today's achievements.

Looking at the monks in front of him again, Li Yan couldn't help shaking his head: "Whether it's sudden enlightenment or gradual enlightenment, we all require a word of enlightenment, like your Shaolin Temple, which is entangled in mundane affairs all day long, and has become a waste of enlightenment, and finally the Buddhist temple has become a place for merchants to do business." The ground is full of copper smell, how can there be half Zen? Don't let Bodhidharma preach here!"

Huizang's face turned red, and he wanted to refute it with Buddhism, but he was afraid that if he failed to argue, his prestige in the monastery would inevitably plummet, so he retreated and changed the subject again: "Since Li Jiyi wants to pass the decree here, this old man will I am here to invite the abbot of Shaolin, please wait a moment."

Unexpectedly, as soon as the words fell, Li Yan frowned again: "Abbot? Even Master Puguang of Da Ci'en Temple, as a disciple of Master Xuanzang, is still called abbot. You are a mere Shaolin Temple, what qualifications do you have to be called abbot?"

Cheng Wuzhong saw him reprimanding the old monk on the sidelines, but the other party didn't dare to argue, he was already happy enough, so he took the opportunity to ask: "Li Jiyi, what does the abbot mean? What does the abbot mean?"

Li Yan wanted to ask a good question, and explained: "The current leader of the Buddhist monastery is called the abbot. He lives in the Dharma and promotes it. He is called the abbot."

"The word abbot was originally the name of the fairy mountain. Overseas fairy mountains Penglai, Abbot and Yingzhou were used later by Buddhism and Taoism."

"There is a saying in the Buddhist "Vimalakirti Sutra" that, as a Bodhisattva, layman Vimalakirti, the bedroom he lives in is only one foot square, but it can accommodate two thousand teachers' seats, which is inconceivable."

"It is recorded in the first half of this sentence that it is said that there is a meditation room of Vimo Layman in the city of Vaisali in Central India. General Wang Xuance personally measured it. The bedroom he lives in is only one foot square. The second half of the sentence is to promote Buddhism, so it is called the abbot. It can also be called a great virtuous monk."

Li Yan doesn't understand Buddhism, but he has some understanding of the evolution of these words in history. The word abbot in the Tang Dynasty was originally used to praise the profoundness of Buddhism. In the Song Dynasty, the word abbot began to refer to the residence of the abbot. In line with the interrogation, and then gradually extended to the abbot himself, commonly known as "abbot monk".

In later generations, the abbot is completely above the abbot. Regardless of the size of the temple, there will be an abbot, but there may not be an abbot. The abbot needs to have a certain influence in Buddhism and can only be appointed after being approved by the Buddhist Association.

The monks in the hall listened and felt that their knowledge had increased.

Hui Zang's chest rose and fell, but he was so sad that he wanted to vomit blood.

You also know so much about the title of Buddhism, but you still say that you don't understand Buddhism at all?
He called his abbot the abbot, the meaning is very simple, our Shaolin abbot is profound in Buddhism and highly respected, to show the majesty of the ancestors of Zen, and the result...

There is nothing more embarrassing than bragging being exposed face to face. I regret not listening to Fa Ming's words!
Just at this moment, a monk outside suddenly rushed in in horror, shouting: "It's not good! Abbot... Abbot..."

Hui Zang stared angrily, and corrected him: "It's the abbot!"

The monk did maintain his face, corrected his address, and wailed: "The abbot was killed!!"
