Chapter 1 Prologue

Chapter 1 Prologue
On a Sunday morning in London, a roadside restaurant was open as normal. There are not too many people in the restaurant, some people dine in the seats, some people sit on the long bar and drink hot tea.The waiter aunt took a coffee pot and black tea to add to each customer, and stopped to chat with familiar customers from time to time. The atmosphere of the restaurant is slow and cozy.

The two children packing sandwiches broke the atmosphere by slapsticking and laughing in the narrow long restaurant, and the waitress aunt couldn't help but stop: "Hey! Hey! Hey! Two gentlemen, please be quiet for me."

The two children stopped and stood and looked at each other. After the aunt turned around, the eldest child twisted his butt and knocked the child down. The child fell to the side of a middle-aged man's chair, and the middle-aged man hurriedly reached out to support the child. The child stood up, as if he had done something bad, and apologized with a restrained expression: "I'm sorry sir."

The middle-aged man smiled a little: "It doesn't matter, but the restaurant is not a place to fight."

"Yes, sir." The child nodded.

The waitress aunt said, "Two boys, your breakfast is ready."

The eldest child stepped forward to take the paper bag, and walked to the door of the restaurant with the child one after the other.

A bald man in his fifties sitting on a bar chair with a big belly slowly folded the newspaper and reached out to stop the child. He smiled and looked at the child: "I'll treat you to breakfast."

The child was a little nervous, shook his head, turned to look at the older child, and cast his eyes for help.

The eldest child stood at the door without saying a word, as if waiting for the child to come by himself.

Aunt found the abnormality and said on the side: "John?"

The man called John glanced at the child's right trouser pocket: "I found him hungry, right?"

It's the child who asked. The child nodded at the question, John smiled contentedly, and pushed the bar chair beside him for the child to sit on.At this time, the eldest child quietly left the restaurant.

John asked for a milk and a hot dog, and took five bills from his coat pocket and placed them in front of the child. The child dared not move, and John explained, "I want to buy the purse in the right pocket of your pants."

The child hesitated for a moment, then took out the wallet from the right trousers pocket.John took the wallet, threw it on the ground without looking at it, and asked, "What's your name?"

The child replied, "Liang Xi."

John asked, "Vietnamese?"

The child replied: "Chinese."

At this moment, the aunt saw the wallet, picked it up and shouted, "Hey, which careless guy lost the wallet?"

Everyone groped, and the middle-aged man realized that he had lost his wallet and hurried forward to claim it.

John pushed the milk in front of Liang Xi and glanced at the five banknotes he put on the table: "This is your money, you can put it away."

Liang Xi picked up the banknotes and asked, "Can I count it?"

John chuckled: "Of course."

Liang Xi picked up five banknotes and began to count. His way of counting money was different from others. He first held the money in his left hand, and then took out one in his right hand and placed it on the table, and counted: "One, one, one, one. Zhang, one."

After counting, Liang Xi's hands were empty, and there was only one banknote on the table.Liang Xi pushed the note to John: "I'm sorry sir, I can't take your money."

John was very surprised. He knew it was a magic trick, and he also knew how to use it, but he was just surprised that Liang Xi could do it so well.John put away the bill in front of him and thought for a while: "Liang Xi, I know you are a student of the Blue Jacket School."

This time, Liang Xi was surprised: "How did you know?"

John smiled and replied, "I am a detective." Unless Chinese children are orphans, they will not be pickpockets. There is a blue jacket charity school four blocks away, and the restaurant is near the bus stop.Combining all the information, John came to a conclusion.

Liang Xi didn't care about the detective profession, and tilted his head indifferently: "The UK is full of detectives."

John felt that this was right, nodded in agreement, and asked, "Do you like being a pickpocket?"

Liang Xi didn't answer, and drank the milk silently.

John knew it: "My detective agency is not far away on Burning Street, and there is no one to help me with the cleaning. If you want, I can solve your troubles."

Liang Xi looked up at John: "But... but they are a very bad group of people."

John said, "I'm just asking if you're willing or not. As for how to solve the trouble, that's my business."

Liang Xi thought for a while and said, "Sir, it is illegal to employ child labor."

John didn't take it seriously: "If you don't give money, you won't be hired."

Liang Xi was stunned, is this the detective's logic?

Seeing Liang Xi's expression, John smiled for a while, and said, "But I allow you to count the money for me once a week."
